M Pesa launched in Bihar by Vodafone and ICICI

Vodafone is Telecommunications major, ICICI is banking major. Vodafone in association with ICICI started M Pesa service in Bihar as well as in Jharkhand. This is the money transfer and payment service. Main concentration is towards the rural areas where financial penetration is not adequate. This service will be available in 250 Tehsils and in 32 districts.

RBI’s New Governor Raghuram G Rajan RBI’s New Governor is Raghuram G Rajan. Currently he is working as Chief Economic Advisor. Mr.Rajan is taking the place of Mr.Subbharao. Subbharao will complete his tenure of 5 years on 4th September 2013. Man Mohan Singh approved Mr.Rajan’s appointment. He holds the office for the tenure of 3 years.

Mobile phone Services launched by AMSL

NBPDCL (North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited) consumers can make electricity payment through mobile devices. These devices are launched by AMSL (Airtel M Commerce Service Limited). 21 districts of North Bihar can avail these services. Customers can make payment through Airtel money by sending message to AMSL distributors by just tying *400#.

Office 365 launched by Microsoft for the students

Office 365 was launched by Microsoft especially for part time and full time students. It is having 20 GB Premium Sky Drive storage. Bhaskar Pramanik, Chairman of Microsoft launched this new generation Office 365. Price of Office 365 is Rs.4199.  Pichai, GM Microsoft, has stated that this is providing to the student at lower price to develop the necessary skill at university level.
Trading in E series contracts Stopped

E Series contracts (silver, gold and other metals) trading at NSEL (National Spot Exchange Limited) was banned by the Government. KV Thomas, Consumer Affairs Minister, stated that intension behind the ban is to settle Rs.5600 crores of dues to investors.


ICC Test Rankings Released

ICC Test Rankings released on 6th August 2013. In the top 20 Batsman’s list Cheteshwar Pujara got place. He is in the 6th place. Ahswin, off Spinner, got 8th place in the bowler’s rankings. Michael Clarke placed in 2nd position. Pragyan Ojha got 10th place in bowlers list.


18 New Genes responsible for Brain cancer

Scientist made massive study on 140 brain tumours. They identified 18 new genes which are responsible for brain cancer. Most common on all the genes are DNA and RNA. Brian cancer is effecting  the adults. The analysis identified 15 driver genes. These are identified in the previous study also. In this study 18 new drivers are identified that had never implicated in glioblastoma.

Employment and unemployment situation studied by NSSO

NSSO (National Sample Survey office) made a study on employment and unemployment situation. Study has stated that during 2009 -10, Sikhs from urban areas and Christians from rural areas faced highest level of unemployment. For the period from July 2009 to June 2010 study was conducted. Survey was done on 5252 urban areas and 7402 village areas. This was 66th National Sample Survey.


Mobile laboratory inaugurated at Nochikulam

Darez Ahmed, Perambalur Collector, inaugurated mobile laboratory for soil test.  This test helps the farmers to understand the fertility in the soil. Loss of nutrients is the main reason for fewer yields. In order to avoid this mobile laboratory launched by the collector. The laboratory will visit the Ariyalur and Perambalur districts. On spot research will be done and result will be announce on spot.

ICFAI signed Memorandum of Understanding with Virtusa Corporation. Aim is to give training to BPM (Business Process Management) professionals on Pegasystems technology platform.

Memorandum of Understanding between Odisha Government and 6 Private Hospitals

Odisha State Government has signed Memorandum of Understanding with 6 private Hospitals to provide treatment to poor people. Name of the six hospitals are Vishakhapatnam Seven Hills Hospital, Apollo Hospital, Care Hospital, Raipur Ramakrishna Care Hospital, Narayana Hrudayalaya Hospital, Escort Heart Centre. Treatment will be given in these hospitals to the poor under Odisha State Treatment Fund (OSTF). Specialized treatment will be available for kidney, lungs, heart and other problems.

Scientist created 30 microns width of Mona Lisa Painting

World most famous painting is Mona Lisa. This was recreated by the scientist very small. It is just 30 microns width.  This research was done at Georgia Institute of Technology. This image was created by using TCNL (Thermo Chemical Nano Lithography) process along with atomic force Microscope.
