Kapil Parakh Chosen for Fellowship Program by the White House

Kapil Parakh is Indian origin Cardiologist working in Washington area. He was chosen for the prestigious Fellowship Program for 2013-14 by the white House.  According to White House, this program was designed to increase the sense of participation in national affairs and to give promising American leaders first hand, high level experience with the working of the federal government.

Partnership agreement between Hypercity Retail and Snapdeal.com

Hypercity Retail is a part of Raheja Group. Snapdeal.com is the E-Commerce firm. Both the firms entered into partnership agreement with the view to sell Hypercity’s Products on its portal. Amit Maheshwari, Vice President of Snapdeal.com has stated that intension for the tie up is to provide the best products at the affordable price.

SIDBI Ties up with Franchise India

SIDBI (Small Industries Development Bank of India) tie up with Franchise India. This was done with the intension to give financial support for established franchisors in India, as stated by SIDBI, Deputy Managing director, N K Maini.

Rs.900 crores sanctioned to Karnataka by NABARD

Under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF), NABARD (National Bank for Agricultural and Rural Development) has sanctioned Rs.900 crores for Karnataka. As a part of first phase Rs.113.70 crores was released.  First phase amount will be utilised for the Rural and Agricultural Infrastructure projects in the state.  For the construction of 354 roads and 22 bridges, this fund will be utilised, as stated by NABARD Karnataka, Chief General Manager, and GR Chintala.

Wipro and Qatar Airways Partnership for Launching IT products

Wipro and Qatar Airways got into Partnership for Launching IT products for aviation industry. In 2012 September, partnership started between Qatar Airways and Wipro to research. Now Portfolio was developed. IT product portfolio consists of two categories of solutions. They are Mobility solutions and Enterprise solutions.

National sports day marked as Dhyan Chand Birthday

Every year National Sports day celebrates on 29th August. This day is marked as birthday of Dhyan Chand who is the Hockey Legend. As a part of celebrations football and Walkathon tournaments conducted for the first time across the country. With the view the optimum use of Sports Authority of India Stadia, Come and Play Scheme was launched.

Second ASEAN Defence meeting Held in Brunei

In Brunei, second ASEAN Defence Ministers Meeting (ADMM) held on 29th August 2013. At the end of the meeting minister issued a joint declaration that ADMM plus countries will establish practical measures that avoid misunderstanding, miscalculations and undesirable incidents at the sea. Second decision taken in the meeting that Expert Working group on Humanitarian Mine Action will be established. This will be co-chaired by India with Vietnam. With the objective of developing cooperative frameworks and synergy and to address the security Challenges ADMM Plus was established in 2010.  From India Shri Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for Defence attended this meeting.


Third Boeing C-17 Globe master III received by IAF

Third Boeing C-17 Globe master III received by IAF (Indian Air Force). This is the large versatile military transport aircraft. It is having the capability to carry oversize loads and heavy carryings to long distance. Another speciality is this can land on unprepared surfaces and on rough surfaces also.

Boeing 787 will operate to Japan by Air India

Boeing 787 will operate to Japan by Air India. Clearance was given by International Civil Aviation organisation as stated by Director General of Aviation.

Right to Education Anthem Launched by Pallam Raju

Right to Education Anthem Launched by Pallam Raju who is the Human Resource Development Minister. This was introduced with the intension to develop interest in the children. Now the children will learn RTE Message from popular public figures in a music form. This is available is 15 regional languages and in English also. Video of the anthem is available in all the government schools. This was written by Javed Akhtar and Sung by Sunidhi Chauhan and Sonu Nigam. This is the joint effort of National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) and Human Resource Ministry.
