Abraaj Group and CDC invested Rs.100 crores in Rainbow Hospital. CDC is a UK based development finance institution. Rainbow Hospital is a health care centre for children and women. Annual Turnover was Rs.100 crores in the last financial year i.e. 2012-13. Chairman and Managing Director of Rainbow Hospital, Dr.Ramesh Kancharla has stated that they are planning to expand branches in pune, Chennai and Bangalore.

10 % increase in Import Duty on Gold and Silver
Import Duty on Gold and Silver increased by 10 %. Currently import duty on Gold is 8 % and Silver is 6 %. From January 2013 onwards this is third time increase in the import duty.

Hindalco announced first quarter results on 13th August. Company attained increased net profit by 11.8 %. Net profit reached Rs. 475 crores.
11th National Geographic World Championship won by Indian American Students
11th National Geographic World Championship won by 3 Indian American Students in Russia’s St.peterburg city. They have defeated 17 other regions teams. Captain of the Indian American Team is Gopi Ramanathan. He is from Sartell School, Minnesota. Other two students in the team are Neelam Kaur Sandhu (belongs to Bedford school, New Hampsshire) and Asha Jain (belongs to Minocqua School, Wisconsin).

Rojan Sodhi was the first Indian to receive back to back gold medals in World Cup. If he receives this award he will become 7th Shooter to receive this award. In 2011, Gagan Narang got this award. Selection committee recommended Gaganjeet Bhullar, golfer; Virat Kohli, Cricketer; PV Sindhu Batmanton player recommended for Arjun Awards.

On 13th August 2013 Sumsang made an announcement that Galaxy Smartphone and Tables will available in 9 different Languages namely Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Gujarat, Punjabi, Bengali, Hindi. Main target is to cover several people especially people who cannot speak English and internet users.

Ashish Nanda appointed as 11th Director of the IIM A (Indian Institute of Management, Ahmadabad). He will take charge from September 2nd onwards. Currently he is acting as Robert Braucher professor at Harvard Law School. From Harvard University he got Gold medal in Ph.D.

In the domestic market on Friday it has collected Rs.33.12 crores. On Saturday Rs.28.05 crores and on Sunday Rs.32.5 crores were collected. Invested amount on this movie is Rs.70 crores.
